The Department of Microbiology and Virology provides training with a faculty comprising one professor, ten associate professors, and four assistants. Additionally, there are two senior laboratory technicians and eight postgraduate researchers.
The Department offers 23 academic courses for students enrolled in the following educational and professional programs:
Since Ukraine’s independence, the Department’s faculty have published 2 monographs, 4 textbooks, 19 teaching manuals, approximately 200 methodological developments to support the educational process, and over 400 scientific publications. Nine dissertations have been defended: one for the Doctor of Sciences degree, seven for the Candidate of Sciences degree, and one for the Doctor of Philosophy degree.
Since 2021, the Department’s research has focused on the topic: “Features of the Formation of Microbiocenoses in Organisms and the Environment, and Development of Methods for Their Correction to Ensure Animal Welfare, Health, and the Safety and Quality of Food Products.”
The Department maintains a research and training laboratory for postgraduate students, student research groups, and operates the international training and practical center “Veterinary and Technological Support for Farming.”
