At present, the department has developed a strong educational and material base, which includes five teaching laboratories (Genetics, Plant Physiology, Phytopathology, Entomology, and Plant Protection) and two teaching and research laboratories (Biotechnology, Seed Production and Seed Science). The department is also working on the establishment and equipment of a new teaching and research laboratory of Plant Breeding and Variety Studies of Agricultural Crops, scheduled to open at the end of the second semester of the current academic year.

The department’s methodological work during the reporting period has been both effective and productive. This is reflected in the preparation and publication by academic staff of numerous new textbooks, methodological guidelines, workbooks, practical manuals, glossaries, and the development of complete teaching and methodological complexes and syllabi for academic disciplines. Over the past three reporting years, the department has published: two textbooks – Agropharmacology (H.O. Kosylovych, Yu.S. Holiachuk) and Biochemistry of Potato (R.V. Ilchuk, V.V. Balkovskyi, R.O. Mialkovskyi, O.M. Andrushko); two practical manuals (Agropharmacology, Agricultural Biotechnology); three workbooks (Genetics, Plant Physiology, Phytopathology); two glossaries of terms (Genetics, Agricultural Biotechnology); and more than 40 types of methodological materials for in-class and extracurricular (distance) learning for full-time and part-time students.
