The Department of Higher Mathematics is a general education unit of Lviv National Environmental University. It provides fundamental training for students of various specializations in higher and applied mathematics, computer science and programming, probability theory and mathematical statistics, foundations of systems analysis, mathematics for economists, and discrete mathematics.

The Department of Higher Mathematics was established in 1947, coinciding with the foundation of the Lviv Agricultural Institute, which was created on the basis of Lviv Polytechnic.

Currently, the Department’s academic staff includes:
