The Department offers courses in Animal Physiology, Physiology of Farm Animals, Pathological Physiology, Clinical Pathophysiology, and Neurophysiology with Fundamentals of Zoopsychology. Significant attention is given to the reform and improvement of the educational process, with course and working programs adapted to European Union standards. Courses are also taught in English for international students (by Candidates of Veterinary Sciences, Associate Professors I.A. Kolomiiets and V.A. Kolotnytskyi).
The Department increasingly implements elements of scientific labor organization, technical teaching aids—including personal computers and multimedia systems—modeling of physiological processes using functional light models, and opportunities for individual and independent study. Student research is an integral part of the educational process. Lectures and laboratory sessions are supported by advanced computer technologies and multimedia systems.
The Department collaborates with the Lviv Regional Small Academy of Sciences for Youth in the study of Fundamentals of Veterinary Medicine. Student research projects are transformed into scientific projects and submitted to competitions for the best research work, with winners being invited to study at the University. Additionally, the University administration has supported the renovation and aesthetic improvement of classrooms and scientific laboratories.
Currently, faculty, postgraduate students, and students are conducting research on the topic: “Investigation of Immunobiological Reproductive Function and Development of Methods to Enhance It in Animals and Poultry Using Nanomaterials and Probiotics” (Project No. 0121U110477). The Department’s scientific achievements are documented in textbooks, manuals, printed methodological works, scientific articles, and theses presented at national and international conferences.
