Faculty of Agrotechnologies and Environmental Protection
The Faculty of Agrotechnologies and Environmental Protection is a leading center of agronomic and agroecological education in Western Ukraine. Its mission is to provide high-quality training and research in modern agricultural and environmental sciences, sustainable use of natural resources, development of agro-bioresources, and implementation of innovative, energy-efficient, and environmentally friendly technologies.
Founded on the basis of the Agricultural School in Dubliany (1856), the faculty is one of the oldest at the university. Today, it unites six departments: Ecology; Genetics, Plant Breeding and Protection; Crop Production Technologies; Agrochemistry and Soil Science; Horticulture and Vegetable Production (named after Prof. I.P. Hulko); and Animal Husbandry and Forage Production. The structure also includes the Educational and Research Institute of Potato Breeding and Technology and the Educational and Research Institute of Agrochemistry.
Students benefit from modern laboratories in chemistry, agrochemistry, soil science, biotechnology, genetics, plant protection, horticulture, crop breeding, and more. They actively participate in research groups, sports clubs, and creative activities.
The faculty’s academic staff includes 9 Professors (Doctors of Sciences) and 47 Associate Professors (PhDs), who combine teaching, research, and practical training to prepare specialists capable of addressing complex challenges in sustainable agriculture and the production of high-quality, eco-safe crop products.
